FAQ’S

Getting Started

Is IronHQ beginner friendly?
Yes! We welcome anyone who wants to commit to their progress. We support beginners with inductions, personalised programming, online coaching, or one-to-one Personal Training sessions.

Do you offer inductions?
Inductions aren't required, but you're welcome to book an induction and consultation with one of our fantastic coaches if you'd like the extra support getting started. There will always be a member of staff around to help if you ever have any questions on how to use any of our equipment.

Do you offer a free trial?
We don't offer free trials, as protecting our training environment is our top priority. Paying for a day pass shows genuine intent: you're committed, invested in your session, and respectful of the space and the people around you. We're not a commercial gym chasing numbers. Day passes let us reinvest back into the gym, and help us avoid the unpredictable footfall that comes with letting anyone in for free regardless of whether they believe in what we're building. You deserve to experience IronHQ exactly as it truly is, and a day pass is how we protect that, for you and everyone training alongside you.

How is IronHQ different to a commercial/chain gym?
We’re independently owned, so every decision here is made to make the ultimate home of strength. That means a community of likeminded members, personal support rather than being left to figure things out alone, and no long contracts or additional fees. Our top-spec equipment is properly maintained, so if something needs fixing, it gets sorted straight away rather than sitting out of order, and we’re regularly adding new equipment and upgrading what’s already here. Ultimately, we care about the gym and about you.

What is the atmosphere like at IronHQ?
IronHQ is a focused but welcoming training environment. Whether you’re completely new to the gym or an experienced competitive athlete, everyone is welcome. Our members are supportive, respectful and serious about their training, without the intimidating atmosphere. We want IronHQ to be somewhere you can train hard, make progress and feel part of the community.

Membership & Pricing

Are there contracts or additional fees?
Our Monthly Membership has no contract and never any additional fees.

How do monthly memberships work?
The remainder of your first month is paid pro-rata by card. From there, membership is collected via Direct Debit on the 1st of each month. Please note: Monthly rolling memberships require a minimum of two payments. This means the initial pro rata payment and at least one subsequent monthly payment are required.

Do you offer any discounts?
No. As an independent gym, we don’t offer discounts or regular promotions. We believe in keeping our pricing fair and consistent, so everyone has access to the same membership at the same price. Our membership reflects the quality of the facility, equipment and environment we provide, while allowing us to continue reinvesting in the gym.

Is there an age limit?
You must be 16+ to train independently. 13-15 year olds are welcome if accompanied by an adult throughout the duration of their session. ID will be required upon arrival.

Do you offer short-term memberships?
Yes. We offer day, week and month passes for anyone who only needs access for a short period. These can be purchased from reception.

Training, Coaching & Programming

Do you offer personal training or programming?
Yes, we have a team of personal trainers covering a wide range of disciplines, alongside online coaching and personalised programming to suit your goals.

What coaching options are available?
We offer a range of coaching options including one-to-one Personal Training, bodybuilding and powerlifting-specific coaching, programming, and online coaching. Pop in to check out our coaches wall, or message us for our full coaching brochure.

Facilities & Equipment

What equipment do you have?
A wide selection of specialist bodybuilding, powerlifting, strongman and functional kit, built to enable effective training across all strength disciplines.

Do you have specific kit for Hyrox and powerlifting?
Yes, we have full competition-standard kit for both.

Do you have parking?
Yes, we have free on-site parking, plus alternative car parks within a 1-3 minute walk.

When are you busiest?
You can check live occupancy any time via the ClubRight app. Generally, Monday and Tuesday evenings (5-7pm) are our busiest times, however, we have plenty of equipment and a focused-atmosphere so you’ll rarely be waiting for kit even at the busiest times.

Why are members expected to put their weights away?
It’s part of the culture at IronHQ. We believe looking after the gym is a shared responsibility, and putting equipment back is a simple sign of respect for the facility, staff and other members. When everyone does their part, it creates a better environment for everyone to train in.

Does IronHQ have leisure facilities?
No. IronHQ is a dedicated gym focused on strength, performance and effective training. We’ve focused on creating an exceptional training environment with specialist equipment for bodybuilding, powerlifting, strongman, Hyrox, CrossFit and functional training. We don’t have a pool, sauna or spa - our focus is simple: creating the best possible gym.
